How to Clean Your Aquaflame Fountain Diffuser

How to Clean Your Aquaflame Fountain Diffuser

When was the last time you cleaned your Aquaflame fountain? If you're regularly using your AquaFlame with essential oils, or leaving the water and oils to sit in your Aquaflame between uses, the essential oil build up can start to gum up the fountain mechanisms. To keep your Aquaflame running smoothly, we recommend cleaning it once a month, so we've put together this video tutorial and step-by-step written directions to show you how!

AquaFlame Cleaning Cycle:

STEP 1:

Remove your Aquaflame fountain core from the decorative vessel and then remove the flange and dome from your AquaFlame fountain core.

STEP 2:

Turn your faucet on and let the water run until it is hot, fill your Aquaflame fountain core with hot water up to the minimum fill line, and add one drop of liquid dish soap to the water.

STEP 3:

Turn your Aquaflame fountain core on and use the remote control to set the 1-hour timer. Pretty quickly, you'll be able to see the soap suds forming. The hot water and soap will clean out the inside of the pump and the water reservoir.

STEP 4:

When the 1-hour timer has run out and your Aquaflame fountain core has turned off, your core will be nice and clean! Remove the flange and dome again to dump out the soapy water and rinse the Aquaflame fountain core with hot water until the suds are gone.

STEP 5:

Replace the dome and flange on your Aquaflame fountain core, fill it with water and add your essential oils. Then you're ready to replace your Aquaflame fountain core into the decorative vessel!

Help for A Stuck Impeller:

If you've pressed the power button on your Aquaflame fountain and the LED lights come on, but the fountain does not start, you might have a stuck impeller! The impeller is the pumping mechanism behind the fountain, and sometimes, if the Aquaflame fountain has been sitting unused for an extended period of time or if you use your Aquaflame a lot with essential oils, it can get stuck. Follow the steps below before going through the Aquaflame Cleaning Cycle above to help get the impeller moving again.

STEP 1:

Remove your Aquaflame fountain core from the decorative vessel and then remove the flange and dome from your Aquaflame fountain core.

STEP 2:

Turn your faucet on and let the water run until it is hot and then place your Aquaflame under the faucet so that the water is pouring directly into the opening between the 4 LED lights. The impeller is inside here and this will backflush the impeller to help get it moving again. Fill until the water reaches the minimum fill line.

STEP 3:

Set your Aquaflame fountain core on the counter and try turning it on. If the LED lights turn on, but the fountain still does not turn on, proceed to step 4.

STEP 4:

With the Aquaflame fountain core still on, grab a toothpick (or something similar in size) and press it into the opening between the 4 LED lights and your fountain should start again! From here, we recommend going through the Aquaflame Cleaning Cycle listed above to make sure that your Aquaflame fountain gets fully cleaned.

Now that you know how to do the cleaning process, put a reminder in your phone or calendar for every 30 day! If you have any questions or cannot get your AquaFlame fountain running smoothly again after following these steps, leave us a comment and we'll help you out!
